A new apprentice installer doesn’t need to walk in the door with much (or any) experience installing windows and doors. If you’re handy, prefer working with your hands outdoors, and are an attentive worker, you just might be a fit. Apprentice installers assist our seasoned installers to succeed at the job site and learn the necessary skills for career advancement through hands-on training.

Essential Duties:

• Verifies all products to be delivered meet specification and quality requirements. Locates materials and loads trucks to ensure a positive service experience.

• Unloads materials and performs repair work as required. Cleans the work area and the product upon completion of the service.

• Discusses repairs with the customer to ensure satisfaction with the product and service provided.

• Inspects for any damage that may have occurred during the repair. Reports any damage to the customer and manager for appropriate resolution.

• Returns all required documentation associated with the service for company records.

• Maintains safe, clean work environment and utilizes safe work practices in all job aspects (vehicle operation, ladder, and hand tool use, material handling, etc.)

• Maintains professionalism and the highest level of courtesy in all customer interactions.

• Maintains, protects, and respects customer property both inside and out by maintaining exceptional housekeeping during projects.

• Operates and maintains a company vehicle. Cleans and inspects the vehicle in preparation for the next workday.

• Develops and maintains a working knowledge of all products.

• Communicates and elevates product or quality issues of supervisor.

Skills & Knowledge:

• Must be able to work with minimal supervision in independent environments or a small team.

• Demonstrates an understanding of vinyl window repair, glazing, framing, and assembly.

• Capable of taking initiative in identifying and anticipating problems that may arise with customer situations and mitigating those potential issues.

• Ability to safely operate a company vehicle within local, state, and federal law.

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information with discretion and professionalism.

Physical and Environmental Necessities:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds alone and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Lifting will occur on a frequent to constant basis throughout the shift.

• Fine finger manipulation, as well as constant use of hands, is required.

• Ability to work above the head as well as squat, bend, stoop and kneel.

• Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule which may include working days in excess of eight hours and more than five days per week.

• Must be able to perform work in all weather conditions and exercise sound judgment in extreme weather situations.

• Work from heights will be required along with possible use of scaffolding and various types of ladder equipment.

• Use of site-specific and job-specific personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Siding, Window, and Door Installers should have at least 3 years of applicable construction experience (if you’re interested in the work, but don’t qualify, check out our Apprentice Installer position!). We’re guessing that with a few years or more under your belt, that you enjoy working outdoors, perform high-quality work, and know how to keep customers (and the boss) happy.

Qualifications:
· Minimum of 3 years of relevant construction experience
· Siding, framing, and window installation preferred
· Must have a clean and positive presence
· Strong attention to detail
· Strong customer service skills
· Reliable transportation
· Valid driver’s license

Job Description:
· Helps load, unload, and clean out trucks and trailers
· Inventories and maintains assigned vehicle
· Protects customer’s home from damage before starting work
· Installs windows according to AAMA best practices standards
· Cleans up job sites to the original condition or better
· Communicates with the homeowner and solves job site complications in a positive and professional manner
· Works with the field manager to finish on time and keep current on schedule
· Recycles windows when not on site
· Assists with warehouse upkeep
· Checks Schedule and prepares for the next day’s jobs (supplies, timing, check with sales on the scope of work and contacts customer)
· Understands CRM Reports, so the job is finished accurately.

• Answers incoming calls and schedule sales appointments
• Quotes customers and assists outside sales team with changes and communications with customers
• Handles internet leads and follow-ups
• Updates CRM daily
• Communicates with customers on daily basis about the schedule, sales calls, warranty follow-ups, etc.
• Assists with daily upkeep of the showroom
• Unloads product at delivery and updates files on the delivery status and backorders
• Assists in regular follow-ups with prospects
• Checks confirmations for accuracy

 

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a sales position
• Computer savvy must have knowledge of email systems/CRM software, Word, Excel, and POS systems
• Good interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and able to work in a system with others

 

Pay and Benefits:

This position offers performance-driven compensation starting at $18 per hour plus monthly sales goal bonus.
